My name is Silke Mahler Olsen, I am 14 years old and a passionate karate athlete. I represent Amager Karate Klub in Tårnby, where I train daily and continuously develop my skills. In addition, I am also part of the elite training program at Allerød Karate Dojo, where I have the opportunity to train at high intensity and spar at a high competitive level.
Karate means everything to me — I love training, competing, and constantly working to become better, both on and off the mat.
After only seven months of competition experience, I became Danish Champion in U14 in November 2024. At the same time, I was selected for the Danish Karate Federation’s Kata Talent Center, where I trained with one clear goal in mind: earning a place on the national team. From 2026, I am proud to be a member of the Danish National Karate Team, representing Denmark at both national and international competitions. As part of the national team, I also participate in weekly training sessions with other national team athletes, giving me the opportunity to continuously develop and train at the highest level.
For me, karate is about much more than just sport. It is about community, focus, respect, and strength — both physical and mental. I love pushing myself, diving deep into technique, and always striving to improve. My journey as a young elite athlete has taught me discipline, perseverance, and responsibility — values I carry with me in everything I do.
For me, karate is much more than just a sport. I love the feeling of pushing myself, focusing on technique, and leaving training knowing I am even just a little bit better than yesterday.
It’s about:
✨ community
✨ focus
✨ respect
✨ strength — both mental and physical
I train several times a week, focusing on technique, strength, and conditioning. At the same time, I balance school and a normal teenage life with friends and family. It can be busy, but I love it.
My goals are to:
🔥 continue developing as an elite athlete
🔥 achieve strong international results
🔥 represent Denmark with pride
🔥 always keep the joy in what I do
